Standing in Awe of the Mountains that He Moves...

Mountains are large.  They make themselves known.  They can harbor environmental conditions that are harsh and cold.  However, they are also the surroundings of God's awesome natural wonders of creation...mountain streams...groves of trees, and crystal-clear lakes.  Even in the rugged isolation of the masses of rock themselves, there is beauty.  If you have been following this blog, you know that the past few years have brought more mountains into my life than I ever thought that I would be capable of climbing.  However, God is faithful and always keeps His promises.  Some of the mountains He has allowed me to climb so that I can reach the beauty.  Others, he has chosen to move out of the way.

God always keeps His promises.  One of those promises is that He works all things together for good.  Another is that he will not leave us as orphans.  As I announced a couple of weeks ago, Michael and I are adopting a baby from the other side of the world.  Now, God has answered our prayers and has revealed a little more about who that baby is going to be and where that baby is going to come from.

We are excited to announce that we are adopting a baby boy from Ethiopia! We have completed a pre-application and are starting to work on the official application which we will submit on February 1st.  Lord willing, there will be a sweet baby boy in our arms in the next 16-22 months.  We are adopting through the America World Adoption Association and will be taking two trips to Ethiopia before the adoption is complete.  Please continue to pray with us...specifically...

1. That God will provide the funds necessary to bring our baby boy home.
2. For patience as we start the home study process.
3. For every child around the world who does not have a place to call home and a group of people to call a family.

I will continue with the updates as we move forward and there will be information about out first fund-raiser soon!

  1. How exciting! You and your sweet baby are in our prayers! If there is anything I have learned from having many miscarriages, it is it is that my family grows on God's schedule, not my own. My acceptance of His plan and my attitude are all that I can control, and that is the way it should be.
How lucky that baby boy is that adoption is a part of your plan. You guys will be wonderful parents! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you!!!
