Yesterday we received word that we have been officially accepted to the Ethiopia program!! My students couldn't be more supportive and excited about the adoption. Some of the potential difficulties that adults dwell on in regards to adoption are nothing in the mind of a teenager. However, when one student asked how much it costs to adopt and I responded with, "around $30,000," there was complete disbelief on the faces of this class of 15 and 16 year old students. One student, who isn't exactly known for being tactful, responded after the shock wore off with, "why...you are the ones who are going to be taking care of the baby? That makes absolutely no sense." Even though the costs can be overwhelming, there is good reason that international adoption is an expensive as it is. We know that God will provide the funds necessary to bring our baby boy home.
